John Schell's Tips For Kembla Grange (Tuesday)

By John Schell

Selections based on a heavy track

Race 1 - 12:35PM RACE AGAINST SUICIDE RACE DAY 21ST JUNE MAIDEN (1000M)

8. Just Like Tilda is a Divine Prophet filly on debut and she comes into this on the back of a third in a Warwick Farm trial last month. She looks like she has talent, and this is a suitable race for her to start her career in. 3. Kowloon Victor is also on debut and has looked good in each of his two trials, finishing second in each of them. He’s in a top stable and bears close watching. 4. Beauty Dash is a four-year-old mare having her first race start. She’s had three trials, the latest of them when fourth at Warwick Farm on May 22. She bears close watching. 6. Doralee has had two runs back from a spell and performed well in each of them. A forward showing would not surprise.

How to play it: Just Like Tilda EACH WAY.

Race 2 - 1:10PM JOIN THE WARRA CLUB TODAY PROVINCIAL MAIDEN (1300 METRES)

3. Empress Tsarina had shown enough talent in a number off trials before having her first start during the Scone carnival and finishing a solid fourth behind I Am Brave. She’s drawn ideally here in gate two and should have derived benefit from that experience. Another good run is on the cards. 1. Strassman ran well enough when fifth here when resuming and followed that up with a sound third at this track. He since ran fifth at Goulburn as favourite but is worth another chance. 7. Awaken The Dream resumes in this and can lift on her debut effort at Newcastle in December. 8. Cuban Rain has been placed in both runs either side of a spell and she is set to run well again in this.

How to play it: Empress Tsarina WIN.

Race 3 - 1:50PM HENRY CLIVE BAR MAIDEN HANDICAP (2000 METRES)

2. Navy Buoy has only had five starts but has been placed in three of them. He comes into this on the back of a fourth at this track and the step up in distance looks made to order. 1. Ant ran home well when a last start third at Canterbury and only needs to run up to that to be a leading chance here. 3. So Suave is lightly raced and looks an improver, while 6. Garinion Righ was close-up at Goulburn at her latest start and can figure.

How to play it: Navy Buoy WIN.

Race 4 - 2:25PM RAINMAKER BUSHFIRE SPRINKLERS BM64 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

3. Il Passero has two wins and two placings from four runs back from a spell and is worth plenty of thought. 2. Invade And Conquer went down narrowly when second here last time out, while 1. Hot Bandit has been racing well enough to pose a threat. 7. Miss Couver resumes here for a new stable on the back of a Scone trial. She’s shown enough talent in her career to be included among the main chances.

How to play it: Il Passero WIN.

Race 5 - 3:05PM DAPTO LEAGUES CLUB BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

11. Dapper Dancer wasn’t beaten far when a last start fourth at this track behind Miss Spacegirl. He’s only won the one race but has shown enough ability to be rated a leading chance here. 4. Miss Spacegirl attacked the line well to score here last time but has a tougher draw here. 6. Zarni needs to lift on her two runs back from a spell but is capable at her best. 7. Winner Of Kowloon was placed on debut at Canterbury before a fifth at Warwick Farm. She since broke through with a maiden win at a short quote at this track and she bears close watching again.

How to play it: Dapper Dancer EACH WAY.

Race 6 - 3:40PM ILLAWARRA PRODUCTION SERVICES MIDWAY CLASS 1 (1500 METRES)

3. Dial Of Destiny followed a strong second at Wyong with a solid victory at Gosford on Anzac Day when racing on the speed and fighting on too well. He since ran fifth behind Don’t Forget Jack at Hawkesbury and gets his chance to bounce back to form here. 5. Miss Hvar was big odds when scoring on debut at this track and then ran well again when finishing fourth at her only other start. She warrants respect again. 2. The Professor has been placed in each of his two starts since resuming from a lengthy spell and he should be in the thick of the action again. 1. Caltsar did a bit wrong but still scored on debut at Newcastle and followed that up with a midfield effort at Scone when only beaten just over two lengths. He is worth another chance.

How to play it: Dial Of Destiny EACH WAY.

Race 7 - 4:20PM WOLLONGONG FIRST AID COND. BM68 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

1. Fangela scored a good win at Canberra two starts ago and then ran well again when a last start third at Warwick Farm behind Apex. Another forward showing is on the cards. 3. Zaragoza followed a second at this track with a last start win here. He was down the track behind Cassiel at Canterbury before that but looks back to his best. 2. No Statement has a solid overall record and ran well when a last start second at Newcastle. 7. Close Encounter is first-up from a spell and finished second in a recent trial at this track. He was a solid fourth here before the break and can sprint well fresh.

How to play it: Fangela WIN.

Best Bets:
Race 1 (8) Just Like Tilda.
Race 3 (2) Navy Buoy.

Best Value:
Race 5 (11) Dapper Dancer.
