Workers Compensation

Racing NSW is a specialised insurer licensed under the provisions of the Workers Compensation Act 1987 (NSW) to provide workers compensation insurance to certain employers (racing clubs and licensed trainers) in the NSW thoroughbred racing industry. The workers of those employers, including jockeys, injured in the course of their employment will have an entitlement to claim workers compensation in accordance with the provisions of both the aforementioned Act and the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998.


Schedule 3 to the Workers Compensation Regulation 2016 sets out the terms and conditions of the policy of insurance that apply to an employer’s liabilities under the Workers Compensation Act 1987.
