Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $1,000,000 Silver Eagle (1300m) at Royal Randwick.
Zac Lloyd (Linebacker) “He is so nice to ride. I thought today was a query, obviously he’s had a couple of setbacks but John (O’Shea) and Tom (Charlton) they are just training him so well. His trackwork rider Santiago, he can be quite keen and he does a fantastic job with him.
“Just try to keep it smooth and trust that I was on the best horse. I actually got a lovely run, considering he was three deep they weren’t going fast.
"I had cover off the horse in front of me because he was a bit off the fence. He put that field away so quickly and there is still so much more to come with him. I am so excited.
“I think me and him get along really well, similar mentalities. But he knows how to get the job done and he’s a serious race horse.”
Linebacker wins the Silver Eagle
James McDonald (Lord Penman): “Super run. Building nicely.”
Josh Parr (Mayfair): “Great performance. It was quite a rough race. We raced really tight. But he was brave to keep sticking his head through there and perform well.”
Jason Collett (Depth Of Character): “Very unlucky. Didn’t have a lot of room there in the straight. Had plenty of horse too.”
Adam Hyeronimus (Shangri La Spring): “He has gone really well. Ready for a peak performance third up."
Zac Purton (Imperial Force): “He was a little bit aggressive in the run.”
Chad Schofield (Raikkonen): “He was plain. Travelled well with cover but found nothing.”
Rachel King (Point And Shoot): “Really pleased with his run. Hopefully gets him back on track and gives him confidence.”
Damian Lane (Sabaj): “Lap full of horse, nowhere to go.”
Craig Williams (Spicy Martini): “Against that type of calibre horse, and the work we had to do from the barrier draw, the run was understandable.”
Tim Clark (Gerringong): “She didn’t step great. It put her in an awkward position thereafter.”
Dylan Gibbons (Snow In May): “Gutsy effort. She was off the track the whole way. Loved her fight.”
Tommy Berry (Harlem Queen): “She is going great. When she gets to the right distance she will be well recognised. At the moment, a bit too sharp for her.”
