Neil Evans' Tips For Wyong (Tuesday)

By Neil Evans

Track improving to near Soft 5 and rail true

Race 1 MAIDEN HCP (1350m):

Randwick 3YO 3. Write On can break through second-up over more ground after finishing well here behind a promising filly.

Dangers: Local 5YO 1. Destacado will appreciate getting back on firmer footing; while 3YO filly 5. Deep Creek is the best of the rest.

How to play it: Write On to win. Odds and Evens: Odds

Race 2 C, G & E MAIDEN PLATE (1100m):

Time for 3YO powerhouse 7. Malkovich to break through. Was only worn down late after showing great speed resuming on the Kensington track, and even better suited here. Carries half kilo less back to provincial level.

Dangers: Rosehill 4YO 1. Born A Warrior looks the clear threat fourth-up.

How to play it: Malkovich to win. Odds and Evens: Split

Malkovich runs third at Kensington on August 26

Race 3 F & M MAIDEN PLATE (1100m):

Now the girls' turn, and keen on resuming filly 6. Ballistic Lover with the winkers coming off. Looked forward in the second of two trials, and on debut late last year was strong through the line in a deeper maiden than this.

Dangers: Talented mare 2. Pia Sofia looks primed to return after bolting in a recent trial, and draws much better after copping two wide gates in May. Big watch on resuming filly 4. Alura who has had two quiet trials, and trainer has made a stack of gear changes. Another debutant filly 10. Zain's Girl has plenty of raw ability, and trialled well, but drawn off the track; while Godolphin filly and first starter 5. Attribution has also had two recent quiet trials, and draws to get a useful trail.

How to play it: Ballistic Lover to win and first four 2,6/2,4,6,10/2,4,5,6,10/2,4,5,6,10. Odds and Evens: Evens

Ballistic Lover runs third in a trial at Rosehill on September 15

Race 4 MAIDEN PLATE (2100m):

Thin staying race augurs well for improving 3YO 11. Anakin Skywalker who is searching for this trip after two solid closing efforts, and drops down sharply in weight.

Dangers: Warwick Farm 4YO 4. Overthink boxed on well third-up in heavy ground at Hawkesbury, but looks well under the odds; while 3. Omaka hit the line hard fourth-up at Scone, but up sharply in weight.

How to play it: Anakin Skywalker to win. Odds and Evens: Split

Race 5 CLASS 1 HCP (1600m):

Randwick mare 2. Aspect Ratio has plenty of quality, and only needs to find cover from the outside gate to finish over the top second-up. Took on Group 1 fillies company in autumn, and her first-up run here in a BM 64 was a sound spring platform.

Dangers: Consistent mare 4. Let Me Think has been in the placings in her last three, and will get a soft run behind the speed; while 6. Jeanne D'arc is another progressive filly who broke through at Hawkesbury in only her second start, and extra distance suits.

How to play it: Aspect Ratio to win and box exacta 2,4,6. Odds and Evens: Evens

Race 6 CLASS 1 HCP (1350m):

Lightly raced mare 3. Exotic Ruby can peak third-up from a better draw. Has worked to the line strongly in two runs back off a long break.

Dangers: Progressive colt 7. Sammy is an obvious threat off an impressive maiden win at this track, and draws the inside. Watch for sharp second-up improvement from 1. Captain Solo; while loved the way 8. Chasing Comets charged home late third-up in a strong BM 58 at Scone.

How to play it: Exotic Ruby to win. Odds and Evens: Odds

Race 7 BM 68 HCP (1100m):

Very testing and most open race on the card. Godolphin mare 6. Bollywood is ready to strike first-up off a smart trial. At her best early in the prep, and draws to get a sweet trail under the form metro rider.

Dangers: Hawkesbury 4YO 3. Bigger Than Thorn has returned in blazing fashion motoring home from well back to win a CL1 and BM 64. Building a smart record although tighter track is a query. Consistent mare 7. Empress Bea has finished off well in two deeper metro races, and should be in the finish; while must include progressive mare 8. Siesta Key who was close-up resuming in a BM 64, and rarely runs a bad one.

How to play it: Bollywood to win and box trifecta 3,6,7,8. Odds and Evens: Split

Race 8 CLASS 1 HCP (1000m):

Warwick Farm mare and high class speedster 3. Belluci Babe resumes for only her second start, and should put this lot to the sword. Hasn't started since effortlessly winning her maiden in January, but trials have been terrific, and she could easily end up being a Group star.

Dangers: 8. Verbal Assault returns off a long break as a gelding after two smart trials. Include in wider exotics 1. Already Blessed off a first-up second and 4. Midsummer Rain who is resuming.

How to play it: Belluci Babe to win and quinella 3 and 8. Odds and Evens: Odds.
