Neil Evans' Tips For Kembla Grange (Tuesday)

By Neil Evans

Track Good 4 and Rail out 8m from 1100m to WP so predominantly on-pace.

Race 1 MAIDEN PLATE (1200m):

Locally-trained mare 4. Speed And Style is bursting to win a race after closing late for three straight seconds following a long lay-off. Draws the fence for leading stable.

Dangers: Liked the two runs back from Warwick Farm gelding 2. Street Rogue finding the line both times in maidens with some depth, and extra trip here suits. Wyong 3YO gelding 3. Defeat looks to have strengthened up ahead of his second prep judging from his two trials.

How to play it: Speed And Style to win.

Race 2 3YO MAIDEN HCP (1000m):

Should be solid speed on. Well-bred Rosehill filly and first starter 4. Outback Diva (More Than Ready x Ready Diva by Redoubte's Choice) won a trial late last year before returning with a dominant trial display at Rosehill when easily accelerating away. Looks ready!

Dangers: Randwick filly 2. Dreaming For More fought on well after leading on debut at Kensington, and has since been sharpened at the trials. Clear threat. Bathurst-trained 1. Al Caphero showed plenty of speed on debut before run down behind a smart youngster. Fitter and stays at this trip for good country stable. Randwick filly 5. Amplified never got warm in her first prep, but has trialled twice, and should come back stronger.

How to play it: Outback Diva to win and quinella 2 and 4.

Race 3 MAIDEN PLATE (1600m):

Small but competitive field at set weights. Rosehill gelding 5. The Bounty is a real stayer in the making. Was hard in the market, but off the bit at the 600m on debut at Goulburn, yet still hit the line as good as anything. Breeding suggests will run out a strong mile second-up, and blinkers go on.

Dangers: Warwick Farm colt 3. Kiss The Bride improved into his second-up run, and can peak here up to the mile. Bred to get even further. Talented Randwick filly 6. Diamond Pedrille has found one better in all three runs this prep. Will naturally drift back but can rattle off a slick final 400m on a track that suits. Blinkers come off.

How to play it: The Bounty each way and box exacta 3-5-6.

Race 4 BM 70 HCP (1600m):

Local gelding 4. Uno That is on the improve. Bolted in his maiden two runs back before again leading all the way in a modest CL1. Hard fit and will take some catching on home track.

Dangers: Another Kembla-based gelding 5. Happy Seventy has been mixing form, and while this is a little step up in class, firmer track is a plus. Warwick Farm-trained gelding 6. Lord Heron fought on tenaciously to claim a BM 64 at Hawkesbury, and will again try to dictate up front; while Warwick Farm 4YO 2. Cape Wickham is another who will appreciate being back on top of the ground.

How to play it: Uno That to win and box trifecta 2-4-5-6.

Race 5 MAIDEN HCP (1400m):

Tricky race over this trip, but expecting big improvement second-up from 3YO Randwick colt 1. Nowyunomi. Was out in the market on debut when working home nicely at Hawkesbury over shorter under 59kg. Bred to obviously want further and much better off at the weights after rider's 2kg claim.

Dangers: Local filly 4. You're Joking found the line strongly in second career run at Nowra, and extra trip looks ideal. Stablemate to Nowyunomi, 2. Kooza returns off a long break and has trialled twice; while debutant Rosehill filly 3. Our Fun (Dundeel x Funzero by Danzero) has had a quiet time at the trials, but should be included in exotics.

How to play it: Nowyunomi to win and trifecta 1-4/1-2-3-4.

Race 6 CL1 HCP (1200m):

Improving Rosehill gelding 3. Bondi Boy charged through along the inside to win his maiden at Wyong two runs back beating a smart trial horse before closing nicely again as a well backed favourite. Will get back again, but long run home suits.

Dangers: Warwick Farm gelding 5. The Runner was heavily backed when hitting the line hard to just miss first-up at Muswellbrook, and has been given time for this longer test. Rival Warwick Farm 3YO gelding 4. Exclusive has been gelded after finishing out of the placings in both runs back, amid deeper BM 64 company, and trialled solid behind high class Easy Eddie.

How to play it: Bondi Boy to win and trifecta 3-5/3-4-5.

Race 7 BM 64 HCP (2000m):

Open battle to finish. Lightly-raced and tough Randwick filly 7. Loves To Rock can take another step up after charging home to win his maiden this track and trip. Previously had chased home some good stayers, and looks well placed from the draw.

Dangers: Moruya 4YO gelding 3. Pinch Passion is ready for this trip after working home nicely behind a good horse in the Murrumbidgee Cup.

How to play it Loves To Rock to win and quinella 3 and 7.
