Big Uplift In Ticket Sales For The Newcastle Herald Hunter (Saturday)

There has been a surge in ticket sales in the weeks leading up to Newcastle Jockey Club’s biggest raceday of the year, The Newcastle Herald Hunter Raceday, with the club reporting a more than 30% uplift on the same period last year.

With a little under a week to go before Novocastrians and visitors from outside the region flock to Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday (16th November) it appears the growth in the event is continuing its upward spiral.

Newcastle Racecourse's CEO, Duane Dowell said the promotion of The Newcastle Herald Hunter Raceday including the announcement of the Screaming Jets performing live has seen a big increase in interest for the day.

“Newcastle and the people of the Hunter continue to get behind this raceday and it’s great to see the continued growth in the event with ticket sales well in front of the same time last year,” Dowell said.

“The Newcastle Herald Hunter Raceday puts us in the national spotlight for racing events with our own $1 million race headlining a great day of racing, fashion and fun!

“To have the Screaming Jets, a local iconic band, performing in the afternoon provides an amazing finale to a day which promises to be an unforgettable experience for racegoers.”

With the expected increase in crowd numbers, an extra general admission precinct has been created with a big screen, pop-up bars and food stalls.

“We encourage everyone to secure tickets online before the day,” Mr Dowell added.

While hospitality packages sold out weeks ago, there are still General Admission tickets available on the club’s website newcastleracecourse.com.au
