The Everest Carnival Launches At Rosehill Gardens This Saturday

Several of Australia’s most promising young horses and the ruling TAB Everest favourite are just some of the stars in action on Saturday as the Australian Turf Club’s Everest Carnival launches at Rosehill Gardens.

The $200,000 Group 2 Run To The Rose and $200,000 Theo Marks Stakes are two feature races on a big card of Group racing, the start of two months of spring racing and entertainment at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick.

The Run To The Rose has in recent years become a key path to the highly sought-after $1 million Group One De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose on 22 September.

Trainer Kris Lees’ unbeaten colt Graff is the $2.60 TAB Fixed Odds favourite, ahead of two Chris Waller runners Zousain ($4.60) and Performer ($7.50).

The Group 2 $200,000 The Daily Telegraph Stan Fox Stakes features another of Chris Waller’s star three year old colts, The Autumn Sun ($1.85 TAB Fixed Odds).

Graff and The Autumn Sun are equal $6 TAB Fixed Odds favourites for the De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose.

Saturday also sees the return of triple Group One winner Trapeze Artist, the $2.80 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in the $200,000 Group Two Theo Marks Stakes.

He takes on fellow Group One winner, the flashy grey D’Argento ($3 TAB Fixed Odds), and the promising Siege Of Quebec ($5 TAB Fixed Odds) from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable.

The $200,000 Group 2 Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes is a fourth blacktype race on Saturday, headed in TAB.com.au markets by Champagne Cuddles ($3.20) for Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker.

Markets for all races on Saturday along with feature races across the Everest Carnival are available at tab.com.au

The Rosehill Gardens track was rated a soft 5 on Thursday morning.
