Pericles Withdrawn From TAB Epsom Handicap
Racing NSW Stewards have approved the withdrawal of PERICLES from the TAB Epsom Handicap, which is to be run at the Royal Randwick meeting on Saturday 30 September 2023.
This follows a report from trainer Mr James Cummings that PERICLES was found to be displaying blood in the near side nostril later in the morning after having completed track work. A subsequent endoscopic examination of the horse detected blood in its trachea.
Prior to racing again, PERICLES will be required to undergo a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000m in the presence of a Steward, in accordance with the provisions of AR79(8).
