Jockey Quotes - Ming Dynasty Quality

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $250,000 Precise Air Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens.

Jay Ford (Lady Shenandoah): “She’s high class, the stable gave me a very big push for her. They said she’s quite a quality horse and she’d come back well and only had one trial. Straight to a 1400, had a lovely run rounding them up really nicely.

“Got a little bit tired but wayward nonetheless but she’ll improve with more racing experience. She’s well on her way. Like you said for a maidener to come and break straight into black type augurs well for the path ahead she’s gonna take.

“She’d be competitive in (the Flight)? I’d have to think so but you’d have to ask them. I’m just warming the seat for JMc but look she’s quality, whatever she contests, she’s gonna aim up to it for sure.”

Tim Clark (Mayfair): “He was very tough on speed. Had to give everyone weight and he was very brave.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Snack Bar): “He has run a good race. I offset the wide gate straight across and got outside lead. We just got grabbed late so maybe if he drew softer it probably would have been closer again.”

Chad Schofield (Clear Proof): “Relaxed early. Found a good rhythm. From the 600m onwards I was in a lot of trouble. He hung on the bend and didn’t finish it off.”

Josh Parr (Just Party): “A great performance.”

Reece Jones (Rag Queen): “Probably a poor performance. Couldn’t really get into it from that draw. Drifted back and hit a flat spot.”

Jason Collett (Iron Hawk): “He got quite warm before the start. Didn’t handle himself too well.”

Tyler Schiller (Imperial Force): “I thought his run had some merit. He just didn’t jump as sharp as I would have liked. He put himself back in an awkward spot but I thought he ran on nicely.”

Regan Bayliss (Last Command): “I think he is looking for the mile and maybe a set of shades.”

Zac Lloyd (Media World): “He ran lovely. He is a very nice colt going forward. Probably still six months away. Just needs to mature and grow a bit. Definitely up to this grade.”

Tommy Berry (Henlein): “I love him. Can’t wait to ride him again.”

Dylan Gibbons (Monte Veebee): “He is a very nice horse. Just probably lacks the maturity to reach this grade. Once he sorts it all out, they’ll have a lot of fun with him.”

Tom Sherry (China Sea): “Ran enormous. Went back from the wide gate. He is a lovely horse doing his best work through the line.”
