Jockey Quotes - Galaxy

I Am Excited won a thrilling $700,000 G1 City Tattersalls Club Galaxy (1100m) for David Pfieffer and Tim Clark.

Tim Clark (I Am Excited): “I thought I did win but definitely wasn’t going to go off before I saw the number in the frame. A great result. A good job by David. He freshened her up and wrapped to get another G1.”

“The Galaxy was my first Group One and this is my third now so it has been a good race to me. Very privileged to be able to take it out again.”

I Am Excited wins the Galaxy!

Tommy Berry (Pierata): “Nice run. The big weight anchored him down a little bit today but he was strong late.”

Brenton Avdulla (In Her Time): No comment.

Damien Oliver (Savatiano): “Nice run. The leader just took her off her course a little bit in the straight but she stuck it out pretty well until the last 100m.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Deprive): “Really good run. Happy with how he went.”

Jade Darose (Jungle Edge): “The track is a bit firm for him. He needs it a bit wetter.”

Billy Egan (Miss Leonidas): “Good run. Couldn’t be happier with her. I think that was her swansong, there was just one better than her on the day.”

Jay Ford (Fasika): “She ran well. They were just too sharp for her.”

Kathy O'Hara (Madam Rouge): “Her run was good. Her run just ended at the 150m but she will be better for it.”

Craig Williams (Soothing): “She did a really good job at this level. I just felt like her being fresh she was a little keen early. If they went a lot faster she would of had a strong finish.”

Michael Dee (Tofane): “She is as honest as the day is long.”

Rachel King (Pretty In Pink): “It was a good run up in this company and she will only improve from that.”

Robbie Dolan (Anaheed): “Just the wide gate probably caught her out today.”

Glen Boss (Cosmic Force): “He ran well.”
