Jockey Quotes - Eskimo Prince Stakes

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $250,000 Asahi Super Dry Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.

Chad Schofield (Public Attention): “He's stunning, yeah. I loved him since the first time I rode him at track work and then obviously I was really impressed with his two trials.

“He's just a beautiful colt with a great attitude, great action. He's lovely to ride and it was great to see him do that today over a distance like that because he's only going to get better when he gets over further.

“It was great to see him do that today over 1200m. He just jumped, put himself on the speed and dropped the bridle as well. I just love the way he flattened out down the straight and very strong through the line.

“He wobbled a little bit around the corner the first time Sydney way, but I just waited for him to gather himself, and then he just kept lengthening really nicely, and he gave me a terrific feel.

“I’m very grateful for all of Mick's support and hopefully we can just keep banging the winners home.”

Public Attention wins the Eskimo Prince

Kerrin McEvoy (Linebacker): “Good run. Improvement to come out of that out to 1400-metres.”

James McDonald (Gatsby's): “First-up, big weight, he did well.”

Tim Clark (Mayfair): “He ran a bit below par.”

Jay Ford (Just Party): “He was just a little too keen resuming. Left himself a bit vulnerable late.”

Jason Collett (Goodlucktome): “Fantastic run. Step up in grade for him and he performed. Really happy with it.”

Adam Hyeronimus (Beer Baron): “He was very strong. Whether getting shod before the race stirred him up, but you can’t sustain that.”

Zac Lloyd (Snow In May): “Very nice run by her. Obviously a race in three weeks’ time is going to suit her a lot better against her own sex.”
