Golden Babies & Bush Visitors To Make A Classic Day At Rosehill Gardens

First pointers to the iconic Longines Golden Slipper and a big contingent of country owned and trained horses will feature at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday on Country Classic Raceday.

The $150,000 Golden Gift for the two-year-olds and a capacity field in the $125,000 Country Classic are two highlights on a big card, featuring 127 entries over the nine races.

Master trainer of two-year-olds Gerald Ryan has early favourite Cardiff ($3.00 TAB Fixed Odds) in the Golden Gift.

He is up against Longines Golden Slipper-winning trainers Gary Portelli (Spaceboy $3.10 TAB Fixed Odds) and Peter and Paul Snowden (Jonah $6 TAB Fixed Odds).

The James Cummings colt Tassort is also prominent in the TAB.com.au market at $3.50 TAB Fixed Odds for the Golden Gift.

Cardiff, Spaceboy and Tassort are also all in the top 10 in betting in TAB.com.au’s early Longines Golden Slipper market.

A full field of 18 runners and four emergencies have accepted for the Country Classic over 2000m.

NSW trainers from as far south as Wagga Wagga and Moruya, from Ballina and Taree in the north and Dubbo and Mudgee from the state’s central west will travel to Rosehill Gardens.

The Matthew Dale-trained Rapture Miss is the early $5 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in a wide open betting field, ahead of stablemate Shangani Patrol ($7 TAB Fixed Odds) and Mudgee trainer Mack Griffith’s Most Exalted ($8.50 TAB Fixed Odds).

Full markets for all races at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday as well as the Longines Golden Slipper are available at tab.com.au

ATC this Saturday will launch a free punters tipping competition via a new app, with entry by texting the letters ATC to 0400 813 813 and following the instructions.

Entrants pick one selection in each of four races on the day (races 5-8), with a “virtual” $10 put on win and place through NSW TAB Tote.

The successful winner with the highest total dividends from their selections will be contacted on the day via phone and will win $500 prizemoney.

The ATC Tipping Competition will run over the next four Saturdays at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick.

Rosehill Gardens Track Manager Shaun Patterson said the course proper was rated a Good 4 on Thursday afternoon, with the rail back in the true position.

A full track report can be viewed here.

Rosehill Gardens and all ATC racecourses provide free parking and free high capacity WiFi.
