Tommy Berry The One To Follow At Wyong (Weds)

Tommy Berry heads up the M1 to Wyong on Wednesday where he has an attractive book of rides on the seven-race program. Berry has four mounts including the Snitzel filly Taken Everything on debut in the Turfcare Australia Maiden Plate (1000m).

Berry was aboard the Hawkes trained three-year-old when she led all the way to win a recent Rosehill trial by 1.3 lengths.

Tommy Berry also rides the in-form Paul Cave trained mare Spanish Dream in a competitive Floratine@Turfcare Conditional Benchmark 70 Handicap (1350m).

Spanish Dream beat subsequent winner Maid Marilyn by 3.73 lengths at Gosford on November 1 and she has placed since at Canterbury Park.

RACE 1 (MAINSTREAM TAXATION & ACCOUNTANCY MAIDEN, 1350M): Apidae ($3.60 on TAB fixed odds) is on debut from the Kris Lees stable. The 4YO led all the way to win a recent Wyong trial. He was never off the bit and he won the trial comfortably. First Reading ($1.90 favourite) deserves a change of luck after six placings from eight starts. She is an on-pacer and she was narrowly beaten at Newcastle last start. Ikara Miss ($5) is fitter for her first-up run.
SELECTIONS: 1 APIDAE, 2 FIRST READING, 4 IKARA MISS

RACE 2 (WYONG EQUINE CLINIC CLASS 2, 1350M):  This race is for apprentice jockeys only. Fuchu ($2.25 fav) is in his first preparation and he is flying. He was unlucky first-up at Newcastle when he came from a long way back on the turn to be beaten half a length. Second-up at Newcastle on December 2 Fuchu again got well back before storming home to win. He is only a little fella so the 2kg claim will be a help. Cuba ($4.40) has a good record on this track and he will be fitter for a first-up placing on this track. Resonare ($15) had good form last prep.
SELECTIONS: 2 FUCHU, 1 CUBA, 4 RESONARE

RACE 3 (WYONG COAL CLASS 1, 1200M): Battle Cry ($3.60 fav) was very impressive first-up when he won a Gosford Maiden by 3 lengths. He has natural speed and has a soft draw and Tommy Berry. Lady Of Shalott ($4.60) resumes here on the back of two trials. The filly was placed in a Listed race last prep and she won the Miss Finland on debut. Osorno ($6) was a Warwick Farm 2YO winner in July and must be respected.
SELECTIONS: 2 BATTLE CRY, 4 LADY OF SHALOTT, 1 OSORNO

RACE 4 (TURFCARE AUSTRALIA MAIDEN PLATE, 1000M): Taken Everything ($2 fav) is a first starter after only one trial. She led throughout to easily win a Rosehill trial on December 4. Montana Thunder ($3.60) has been placed in his only two starts and he has drawn nicely. Both his starts have been at Hawkesbury and he won a Wyong trial before his debut. Looksea ($14) was heavily backed when run down late at Newcastle first-up.
SELECTIONS: 13 TAKEN EVERYTHING, 1 MONTANA THUNDER, 2 LOOKSEA

RACE 5 (GUARDIAN PARTNERS BENCHMARK 64, 1600M): Seababe ($3.50) was a close second first-up at Newcastle on December 2. She will appreciate the 1600m second-up as her two wins have been over 1850 and 1900m. The mare has raced well second-up in the past. Zeppelin ($2.90 fav) drops in class and he won a Goulburn Maiden and the Bong Bong Cup recently. Magic Search ($4.40) is well placed and has the rails barrier.
SELECTIONS: 1 SEABABE, 2 ZEPPELIN, 4 MAGIC SEARCH

RACE 6 (FLORATINE @ TURFCARE CONDITIONAL B/M 70, 1350M): Spanish Dream ($2.90 fav) is in career best form and she will be hard to beat in a competitive race. The mare won a Gosford Class 1 three starts back before going down by a head at Canterbury. Last start on November 28 she was placed at Warwick Farm after racing on the pace. Excelling ($4.80) wasn’t comfortable on the heavy track last start and his previous form was good. Shantou ($5) will derive plenty of benefit from two runs back.
SELECTIONS: 6 SPANISH DREAM, 2 EXCELLING, 5 SHANTOU

RACE 7 (TWIN LAKES AIR & SOLAR B/M 64, 1100M): Anna’s Joy ($5 fav) was impressive in a narrow win at Gosford last start. She carries 2½kg more but this field is not as strong. The mare is an on-pacer and has drawn okay. Battle Anthem ($7) led all the way first-up at Kembla and his form is hard to fault. Four More Millers ($13) caught the eye with a fast-finishing third at Gosford last start.
SELECTIONS: 2 ANNA’S JOY, 5 BATTLE ANTHEM, 3 FOUR MORE MILLERS
