Rosehill Gardens Blooms With Group Races Galore On Hill Stakes Day

NOTE: The Chris Waller-trained LADY SHENANDOAH – who is a slot runner in next week’s $20 million TAB Everest – will have an Exhibition Gallop on Saturday after Race 1 (Kerrin McEvoy) over 1000m.

Six feature races headlined by the $2 million Group 2-Toyota Forklifts Hill Stakes are part of the fourth Saturday of the spectacular 2025 Sydney Everest Carnival.

The $300,000 Gr 2-Canadian Club Roman Consul Stakes, $500,000 Gr 3-Drinkwise Gloaming Stakes and $250,000 Gr 3-The Nivison are on a 10-race card with 148 entries.

The third running of the $1.5m Alan Brown Stakes has attracted a capacity field of 17 runners plus five emergencies and the fourth renewal of the $500,000 Listed-Schweppes Tapp-Craig adds to the feature races.

Australian Turf Club Head of Racing and Wagering, Nevesh Ramdhani said Rosehill Gardens was in perfect order for Saturday’s program.

“We have already witnessed outstanding racing over the past three weeks and a great on-course carnival atmosphere," Mr Ramdhani said.

“Saturday is again full of high-class fields and open betting races with many of the feature races attracting big numbers.

“Rosehill Gardens will continue the world-class racing this spring with more blockbuster races over the coming weeks."

The Chris Waller-trained Lindermann with Nash Rawiller to ride is the $2.70-$2.40 TAB favourite in the Toyota Forklifts Hill Stakes. Chris Waller has won the races six times and jockey Rawiller three times.

The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott stable’s Elamaz is at $7.50 for jockey Tim Clark along with Light Infantry Man at $9.50 for Ciaron Maher and Chad Schofield.

Highly-talented mare Miss Roumbini (Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr/Tommy Berry) is the $3.90 opening favourite in the Alan Brown Stakes following a last start Group 1 second placing.

In a strong betting race, Group 1-winner Gringotts for Ciaron Maher and Nash Rawiller is at $6.50 followed by Bosustow (Annabel & Rob Archibald/Josh Parr-$10), with both Waterford and General Salute at $11.

Golden Slipper champion Marhoona for Michael Freedman and Tommy Berry is the firm $2 favourite in the $300,000 Gr 2-Canadian Club Roman Consul Stakes. Second favourite is Beadman at $3.40 for the Peter Snowden and Tim Clark combination.

A capacity field of 16 runners in the $500,000 Gr 3-Drinkwise Gloaming Stakes is headed at $3.20 by Bjorn Baker’s consistent filly Within The Law in front of first emergency Federalist at $4 (Hawkes Racing/Tyler Schiller).

Shangri La Boy trained by Waterhouse & Bott and with in-form jockey Adam Hyeronimus aboard is at $5.50. The Waterhouse/Bott stable with jockey Tim Clark combine with Farnicle – the $2.80 favourite in the $500,000 Schweppes Tapp-Craig.
