Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Rosehill 20th May

Import Bois D'argent broke through for his maiden Australian win after a tough performance in the feature Listed Lord Mayors Cup (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

The Annabel Neasham trained galloper was brave after racing three wide out on a limb throughout in an even tempo, and Punter's Intelligence recorded he ran a total of 2016.2m.

To put that into perspective, he covered an extra 8.1m relative to the runner-up Navajo Peak.

Further, he got pushed even wider on the turn but kept finding under pressure when challenged and clocked the race's second-fastest final 200m in 11.45.

He is a consistent performer and will be even more suited on rain-affected ground.

Wicklow was honest in defeat after exerting his energy between the 600m-200m and clocked 22.69 for that split before peaking on his run over the final furlong.

The well-fancied Thalassophile was solid and ran one of the day's fastest final 200m in 11.32.

Shameless Miss had excuses but ran hidden closing splits and recorded 34.36 for her final 600m. Watch for her dropping back in grade.

Spirit Ridge returned well and was strong past the post.

Devil's Throat was heavily backed when resuming in the Benchmark 78 TAB Handicap (1200m), and he went to a new level.

The gelding clocked a slick overall time of 1:10.56, approximately six lengths faster than the TAB Highway (1200m) and 3.5 lengths quicker than the Benchamrk 78 Furphy Handicap (1200m).

Further, he recorded one of the meeting's fastest final 600m sectionals in 33.32 and follow him this campaign on dry ground.

New Zealander Wewillrock was brave after leading at a genuine tempo and recorded 36.47 for his first 600m.

He looked like the winner for most of the straight, but the early work and big weight told over the concluding stages. He is now a gelding, will be fitter for that effort and is a consistent type.

Robusto is ready to peak third-up, and his sectional profile supports this.

He loomed to win after running 21.78 between the 600m-200m and then battled on well over the final furlong. That effort will have him cherry-ripe for next start.

Victory Lane flashed home, running the race's quickest final 200m in 11.36, and Battleton missed the start but ran on ok.

Miss Hellfire finally had a positive race setup, and jockey Reece Jones gave the filly every chance.

The three-year-old who saluted in the Benchamrk 78 Furphy Handicap (1200m) showed a sharp turn of foot and maintained a strong finishing speed, running 11.30 for her final 200m.

Daralina Belle has a strong platform and is ready to win fourth-up over more ground.

The mare flashed home to run the meeting quickest final 200m in 11.15.

Lady Of Luxury was first-up off a 336-day break, and her run had sectional merit.

The five-year-old was restrained from a wide draw and got too far back but recorded the meeting's quickest final 600m in 33.27. She will be fitter for that outing and can settle closer next start.

It's worth noting Cotehele who bounced back into the winner's stall.

The gelding overcame difficulties to win the Benchmark 88 handicap (1500m) after being held up for most of the straight.

However, once clear, he showed a powerful finish to run one of the day's fastest final 200m sectionals in 11.29.

Fastest last 600m: Lady Of Luxury 33.27.
