Outcome Of Stewards Inquiries And Charges Issued

Racing NSW Stewards provide the following release on recent inquiries conducted and charges issued.

Warwick Farm – 4 May 2021

1. Stewards conducted an inquiry into the conduct of several licensed person involving an assault and improper conduct. The results of that inquiry can be found in the attached Stewards report here.

2. Licensed stablehand Mr Daniel Mogus was disqualified for a period of 9 months for supplying and/or attempting to supply a substitute sample on 12 April 2021. The Stewards report is attached here.

Charges Issued – Jockey Serg Lisnyy & Trainer Kim Waugh

3. Racing NSW Stewards have issued the following charges against licensed jockey Mr Serg Lisnyy and licensed trainer Mrs Kim Waugh following a Stewards inquiry being conducted on 13 April 2021.

Mr Serg Lisnyy

• AR231(1)(a) – Committing an act of cruelty on the racehorse Tarsus on 20 March 2021, by using spurs on the racehorse Tarsus in a manner that mistreated the horse and resulted in Tarsus sustaining injuries to its off side flank region.
• AR125 – Using spurs on the racehorse Tarsus on 20 March 2021 which were not blunt and not approved by Racing NSW.
• AR134 - Using spurs on the racehorse Tarsus on 20 March 2021 in an excessive and/or improper manner.

Mrs Kim Waugh

• AR231(1)(b)(i) – Failing to exercise reasonable care and/or supervision to the racehorse Tarsus to prevent an act of cruelty on 20 March 2021.
• LR52 – Failing to report a suspected breach of the Rules of Racing in that Tarsus had been mistreated on 20 March 2021.
• AR228(b) – Improper conduct towards an employee who reported the mistreatment of the racehorse Tarsus to Racing NSW Stewards.

The hearing of the charges is scheduled to be conducted at 12pm on Thursday 20 May 2021 at the Offices of Racing NSW.

Charges Issued – Mr John Walter

4. Licensed riders agent Mr John Walter has been issued with two charges under NSW LR71A for placing 26 individual bets on NSW races upon which riders he was a rider’s agent for held engagements in.

The hearing of the charges is scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday 25 May 2021 at the Offices of Racing NSW.
