4. Zamazing is an improving filly well placed to strike fourth-up staying over the trip. Has tactical speed, led until the final strides a fortnight ago at Gosford, and gets a 1.5kg drop. 2. Super Eclipse was only fair resuming here when stalking the speed, but has gone back to the trials since, and can hit a second-up peak getting out to the mile. 3. Omaha Sand is also on a prep peak fourth-up and staying over the distance. 9. Redaluca Girl is a country-based filly hitting peak fitness fourth-up from a soft draw, and can run into the minor money.

1. Wal’s Me Mate is a progressive sprinter, ideally placed in a moderate affair to strike first-up behind a forward trial. Missed narrowly when fresh in a deeper metro race last campaign, and suited under the set weight conditions of the race. 2. Gamp has plenty of early speed, and beaten all bar the winner in two runs back from a spell; 3. Lira resumes with gear changes for only her third start, and 7. Copperline, a two-year-old by Sebring Sun on debut for the Scott Singleton stable at Scone, has won two of three lead-up trials convincingly.

1. Firework, a talented and progressive home track three-year-old, emerges as the one to beat second-up. Ran home from the trail to only miss by a neck when resuming at Kembla as a heavily backed favourite, and despite a wider draw this time, will relish the extra ground in a field with a little less depth. 2. Piccaderro is an honest improver drawn to get a nice run on speed, and can run the quinella. Big watch too on 4. Alfred who is yet to run a place from eight starts, but finished off okay when resuming, and gets a significant weight drop. Gap to the rest headed by 9. Shadow Of Light, a two-year-old filly by The Autumn Sun in the John Thompson yard, having her first start behind two improving trials.

9. Impuriteze, an exciting filly by multiple Group 1 winner Trapeze Artist in the Michael Freedman stable, can announce herself on debut in an open and competitive battle of the two-year-olds. Progressed nicely thorough two Randwick trials, drawn to get the right run, and will be very strong late. 2. Extra Heights, a colt by Extreme Choice in the Peter Snowden camp, is a big threat on debut with winkers on having by-passed Canterbury on Wednesday to be saved for this. Was strong through the line in the second of two lead-up trials, and drawn to get a cosy run. 1. Azarax is a big market watch debuting off two progressive trials for the John O’Shea and Tom Charlton stable. The market will tell a story too with another first starter 3. Jagerbomb, a gelding by Contributer who has trialled okay, and a stablemate of the former. 4. Menshevik has race experience, and was okay late when resuming at Canterbury in heavy ground. 12. Panova, another one by Trapeze Artist on debut for the Chris Waller yard, is the best of the rest scratched from Canterbury on Wednesday.

2. California Secret is well placed to make it four wins from five outing this prep coming back a shade in trip. Benefited from rain-affected ground to hit the line best and claim three on the bounce up to provincial BM 64 grade before running home late to only miss by a long neck at Newcastle in similar company a fortnight ago. Reliable weight carrier who will be closing off strong again. 3. Aged Care has more than enough ability at this level, sweeping home to easily beat a BM 64 field here 19 days ago. Drops in weight, and just has to tuck in from an awkward draw. 1. Belleistic Kids is over the odds resuming from a sound trailing draw with key gear changes. 5. Celtic Sin deep into the campaign, and 6. Serene Nic off a five week freshen-up; both go in wider exotic plays.

Race 6 - 3:25PM HMA FLOW & INDUSTRIAL PROVINCIAL C1 HANDICAP (1350 METRES) |

4. The Pacific is locally-trained and wasn’t suited first-up at Newcastle coming through inferior inside ground. Better placed here drawn to get the outside over further, and won second-up last prep. 1. Impressionism is lightly raced with promise, and resumes behind a steady trial. 2. Justice Warrior is hard fit and trained on the track, and will likely jump favourite from the inside draw with a 3kg claim behind a country Super Maiden win. Home tracker 6. Thebes is each way value second-up over a suitably longer trip. Expecting a big fresh run from 3. Monty Be Quick behind two trials up to 1200m; while 5. Benamera is the best of the rest dropping back from BM 64 grade third-up.
How to play it: The Pacific to win
Race 7 - 4:05PM HMA WEAR SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |

6. Burj is primed second-off of a month-long freshen over 100m further. There was plenty to like about his closing fresh effort, and the weight drop is timely. Drawn to settle back and get to the outside. 1. True Amor reloads 19 days after a tough all-the-way here against similar opposition, but this time is drawn right off the track. Scratched from Canterbury to be saved for this. 12. Graphic Sight, a two-year-old in the Waterhouse-Bott stable, is a big watch from an ideal on-speed draw after a dominant first-up country win in heavy going. 2. Duke of Camden returned off a 20 week spell with a Midway CL1 win from just off the speed, but more depth here from a trickier draw. Gap to the rest.
How to play it: Burj to win
Race 8 - 4:40PM HMA GTECH CYCLONES BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1600 METRES) |

4. Dubai Warrior is a tough metro-based three-year-old who can make it two straight at this track 19 days after dominating from the front at CL1 level when hard in the market. Drawn out, but holds that form into the next run. 1. How Much Better is trained here, and overdue for a third career win dropping in grade. Was well fancied when not finishing off a in tougher metro grade two starts ago before ridden more forward in a BM 68 and boxing on for a long way at Newcastle 12 days ago. Query up to the mile, but does get weight relief after the claim. 2. Cosmic Lad charged home to win first-up at this track before flat at Newcastle when backed from $3.90 into $3.20. The nine day back-up is a strong pointer having been preferred here to Canterbury, but doubt the inside draw will do his racing pattern any favours. 3. Sting In The Tail and 6. Luskaire, both second-up, can figure in the minor money.
