Neil Evans' Tips For Warwick Farm (Monday)

By Neil Evans

Track Good 4 and rail out 3m:

Race 1 - 1:25PM HYLAND RACE COLOURS HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

1. Crusader Voyage is a progressive colt from the leading stable and bred to get further. Looks ideally placed switching from Melbourne and two improving runs up to the mile in handy company. Ready to win. 2. Falcon Lair is an improving filly fourth-up who wasn’t far away at Hawkesbury 11 days ago, and further boosted with the stalemate being withdrawn. 3. Buckenara with blinkers back on second-up, and stablemate 8. O’sheamus third-up head the rest.

How to play it: Crusader Voyage to win

Race 2 - 2:00PM RACING AND SPORTS HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

5. Social Circle is a promising country-based filly well placed third-up to make it three wins from four starts, Bolted in from the front when resuming at Scone in much weaker company before showing her credentials by missing narrowly in a deeper CL3 Saturday Highway. Carries only 1kg more after the jockey’s claim, and presents as the one to beat. 2. Whatalegacy is trained on the track, and shoots for a third straight win after dominating from the front at Kembla in lesser grade 18 days ago. 3. Miss Freelove is a lightly raced improver second-up. 1. Matima is also a lightly raced home tracker resuming off a handy trial. Big gap to the rest.

Race 3 - 2:35PM INGLIS READY2RACE SALE 16 OCT HANDICAP (2200 METRES)

1. Leaders Listen is a tough and very fit five-year-old who can bounce back in a tough and typically even race, and deep into his campaign. Won two straight at BM 64 level from near the speed on the Sandown Hillside track before switching states and failing in a much classier Saturday BM 78 at Rosehill. Dropped back to this level and went close two weeks ago, and drawn to get the right trail just behind the speed. 3. Captain Maverick is on a five day back-up after running home okay behind a progressive winner here. 6. California Grass will relish a drop in grade and trip fifth-up. 7. Sting In The Tail has been up for a while, and comes out of that same race as Captain Maverick when very plain after not getting the best of runs. 2. Majorian is a stablemate of the top selection who won a BM 72 here two starts ago before missing by a whisker in similar company.

How to play it: Leaders Listen to win

Race 4 - 3:10PM CATANACH'S JEWELLERS HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

3. Seven’s is a talented five-year-old well placed back in the right grade fourth-up. Impressed sweeping home to win in heavy going first-up before two fair efforts in deeper Saturday company. Given 23 days between runs to offset the drop back a furlong in distance, and leading jockey is back on. 4. Hurstville Zagreb is a progressive four-year-old returning for his first run since early winter. Likely to jump favourite considering he was forced to abandon Group 1 Derby campaigns in two states earlier in the year either side of three gallant outings in BM 72 Saturday class. Has been fitted with two trials, and won easily on debut in the country over a middle distance early in the year. 10. Cosmic Lad is trained here, and charged home to beat the former after tackling deeper opposition at Doomben; while 9. Inncourt is a lightly raced improver, but has to get over from a wide draw.

How to play it: Seven’s to win

Race 5 - 3:45PM OZZMOSIS @ THE CHASE HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

3. Rantan is a progressive mare well placed to peak third-up off a freshen. Charged home from midfield to beat similar opposition here two starts ago before again running home to claim all bar a smart winner at Newcastle in a feature sprint. Two of her four career wins have come at this track, and nothing will be stronger late. 12. Kilonova is a lightly raced mare, and big market watch for the leading trainer-jockey team resuming off a trial. Beat a city field on debut back in summer. 8. Inoue has ability, resumes off two progressive trials, and was scratched from Kembla on Saturday. 2. Istolea Merc is another local with a very solid record, and also resumes behind two forward trials.

How to play it: Rantan to win

Race 6 - 4:20PM SWITZERLAND @ COOLMORE HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

9. Zealously is a smart four-year-old resuming for a leading metro stable behind two strong trials. In and around the money in good class Saturday sprints last prep, including a dominant Saturday BM 78 win over the Scone carnival, and close-up in a metro BM 88. Gets in well on the minimum weight, and drawn to get the right trail right behind the speed. 4. Shezanalister is another talented mare resuming off two improving trials. A first-up specialist having won four from five fresh, and boasts an overall near 30 percent winning strike rate from 25 starts. Beaten narrowly in Group 3 company back early autumn. 3. Imperial Force is a progressive Bjorn Baker stablemate of the former who returns off two winning trials. 7. Wondereach is another home tracker with a smart 33 percent winning record from 21 starts, and clear best of the rest first-up behind two trials.

How to play it: Zealously to win

Race 7 - 4:55PM TAB HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

4. Our Queen is a lightly raced mare from the Baker stable who returned off a lengthy break with a decisive win against similar opposition. Drawn to get the right run on speed, and can head towards a deeper Saturday level by putting this field to the sword. 5. Verbil is progressive enough having swept home to win a country CL3 fresh before hitting the line impressively in lesser grade at Newcastle. 3. Winston Hills has been stiff in three runs this prep, hitting the line late often without luck, but has to tuck in from a wide draw. Gap to the rest headed by longer-priced 7. The Replicant who is fit, with three of his five wins coming at this track; and 2. Gently Rolled who is trained on the course.
