Kathy O'Hara & Noel Callow Headline Bega Cup Carnival (Sat & Sun)

One of Sydney's leading riders Kathy O'Hara and Victorian jockey Noel Callow will make the trip to the Sapphire Coast for Bega Cup Day (Sunday 5th February).

Callow is heading up to partner War Jet for Queanbeyan-based trainer Joe Cleary in the $50,000 Bega Cheese Bega Showcase Cup (1600m).

O'Hara and Callow will join Grant Buckley, Koby Jennings, Adrian Layt, Brendan Ward, Brock Ryan, Mathew Cahill and the track's regular band of top riders to compete for the outstanding money up on offer for Showcase Day.

Other races include the $40,000 Momsen Motors Bega Showcase Sprint (1200m) and the $35,000 Tanja Park Stud Sapphire Coast Cup (2200m).

"With over $400,000 on offer over the weekend we are sure to see some keenly contested races," said Sapphire Coast Turf Club's secretary/manager, Rob Tweedie. "There will be a Fashions on the Field on Sunday and a jumping castle for the kids on both Saturday and Sunday."
