Jockey Quotes - Liverpool City Cup

Onwards toward the Doncaster for consistent miler Dreamforce!

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 Optus Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Royal Randwick.

Blake Shinn (Dreamforce): It’s great to win on this horse for John Thompson, a great supporter of mine, and owner John McGrath I’m sure will be absolutely tickled pink with that.”

“The mile may be a little bit of a concern but the aim is to try and get him into a Doncaster. The thing about him is that he is a quite a push button ride, he does everything that you ask him. He doesn’t necessarily have to lead but he likes to do the bullocking work and we won the Doncaster last year with Clapper and he has a similar racing style to Happy Clapper.

“Might not have the same ability but I’m sure that his heart and determination will carry him a long way.”

Hugh Bowman (Advance Yulong): “Disappointing.”

James McDonald (Kaonic): “Very impressive. He felt really good. He is a horse that will get up over a bit of a trip.”

Andrew Adkins (Snippets Land): “He ran good. He got into a nice rhythm. He hit the line good. He is in for a nice prep.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Ever Loyal): “He just overraced.”

Sam Clipperton (Frolic): “Not her best.”

Tim Clark (Salsonic): “Lovely return. Hit the line really strongly.”

Kathy O'Hara (You Make Me Smile): “I got no peace in front which didn’t help my chances. It wasn’t a bad effort. He just fired up a bit.”
