Jockey Quotes - Chipping Norton

Winx did it again. That's 31 straight and a world record 23 Group One wins. Happy Clapper made a race of the G1 Chipping Norton Stakes but she coasted past him.

Hugh Bowman (Winx): "She was a little agitated today, more so than she has been recently, but fortunately they didn’t open when they pressed the button."

"Blake really made it a test today, as Josh Parr did a few years ago on Red Excitement,  but she can cover all bases this mare. She’s just an amazing athlete, there are really no more words to describe her."

Go Winx!

Blake Shinn (Happy Clapper): “What can I say about my horse? He put up a Group One-winning performance but there are no superlatives you can say about the winner. She just a freak and she had to put up a freakish performance to beat Happy Clapper.”

Corey Brown (Patrick Erin): “He ran good. He’s obviously a Metrop/Sydney Cup sort of horse but he wasn’t too bad.”

Glyn Schofield (Libran): “He ran credibly. It was a really strongly run race and he stayed on nicely.”

Tommy Berry (Brimham Rocks): “Just needs further.”

Brenton Avdulla (Egg Tart): “She ran well. Ran honest.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Unforgotten): “Good effort.”
