Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $250,000 Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick.
Tommy Berry (Incognito) : “The first time Michael’s horses are let off the bit are in their first trial and I gave him a gallop on Tuesday morning and I walked in after it and Michael and I just raised our eyebrows like, geez, what was that? He put in a really, really sharp piece of work. We knew he had come on very well since then.
“He just knuckled a little bit at the start but I reckon that’s probably what won him the race.
“He came back to me lovely after that, executed himself well.
“He’s a son of Stay Inside and I really like this stallion, not just because I won a Slipper on him but his horses are so mature and they’re readymade.”
Incognito wins Breeders’ Plate
Adam Hyeronimus (I'm Ya Huckleberry): “Disappointed not to win. I’m on a very good horse but full credit to the winner, he quickened up well. He beat us fair and square but my horse is very exciting.”
Josh Parr (Revengeance): “He is a lovely horse. Just raced greenly. The last section of the race was reall strong from him.”
Dylan Gibbons (Artaneous): "Physically he is a lovely horse but mentally doesn’t know what it is all about. Just needs the penny to drop with him.”
Tim Clark (Eviction Notice): “He jumped really well. Showed great speed. Just needs to come back a little bit so he can be strong at the back end of his races.”
Tyler Schiller (Iambubb): “His first two strides weren’t quick enough. Got a squeeze and his race was over. I thought he ran on strongly enough.”
Jason Collett (Paradoxium): “A touch aggressive early. Held up first part of the straight. When clear he finished it off fine.”
Nash Rawiller (Whip Cracker): “Nice effort. He thrived on a bit of race pressure on the 100m further from the trail. Took nice improvement from that into today. It was encouraging."
