Home Of The Brave – Withdrawn from The TAB Everest

Trainer James Cummings has informed Racing NSW Stewards today that Home Of The Brave was found to have had a mildly elevated temperature yesterday afternoon which had resolved by this morning prior to working.

Mr Cummings has advised that late this morning Home Of The Brave was found to have an elevated temperature following trackwork, which was slightly higher than yesterday and was of concern to him.

Racing NSW Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Toby Koenig, has today inspected Home Of The Brave and reported the gelding presented with an elevated temperature, was lethargic and a blood haematology test had revealed abnormalities.

Accordingly, Dr Koenig has certified the gelding is not suitable to race in The TAB Everest and Stewards have permitted the withdrawal of Home Of The Brave from The TAB Everest.

The slot holder, Australian Turf Club, has advised they shall nominate the emergency that replaces Home Of The Brave in The TAB Everest shortly.
