Hawkesbury Fashion Stable Ready For Stylish Racegoers

Hawkesbury’s XXXX Gold Stand Alone Saturday meeting on April 29 will reach new heights this year with the launch of the Hawkesbury Fashion Stable - a dedicated marquee on the front lawn featuring the Skin Fitness Fashion Stakes competition encompassing a free photoshoot experience, the Skin Fitness Beauty Bar, Mumm Pop Up Champagne Bar and live music.

In a first for New South Wales’ major provincial race day, the free digital fashion experience is designed to encourage racegoers to embrace fashion, fun and frivolity while learning how to work the camera in the Skin Fitness Fashion Stakes, which replaces the traditional Fashions on the Field format.

With a free lipstick giveaway for every Skin Fitness Fashion Stakes contestant, racegoers simply have a photo taken, select their best shot which automatically gets sent to their smartphone and uploaded to the Skin Fitness Fashion Stakes photo gallery for judging.

Commencing at 11.30am and running until 3pm, seasoned racewear judges led by Linda Fenech of Skin Fitness, Cathy McEvoy, wife of champion jockey Kerrin McEvoy and sister of Melbourne Cup winning jockey Michelle Payne and Christine Bowman, wife of Winx’s famous jockey Hugh Bowman will select winners and present prizes for the ‘Best Dressed Lady’ and ‘Best Dressed Group’ (2-8 persons) categories.

Judges will be looking for originality of style, attention to detail including headwear, overall presentation, attitude, flair and adaptation of fashion trends.

Hawkesbury Race Club CEO, Greg Rudolph believes innovation, change and offering customers a new digital experience which includes the introduction of free wifi on course, is crucial to keep audiences engaged.

“It’s an exciting time ahead because we’re looking to offer patrons something above the ordinary, and the Hawkesbury Fashion Stable, which welcomes those who have an appreciation for fashion, fun and a colourful atmosphere is a great example of this.

“The Skin Fitness Fashion Stakes, Skin Fitness Bar and the Mumm Pop Up Champagne Bar makes it one of the places to be at the track this year, with the chance to win a fantastic prize of a three night Melbourne Cup trip courtesy of Ambassador Travel.”

Operating at the Hawkesbury Fashion Stable will be the Skin Fitness Beauty Bar featuring free hair and make-up pampers, while the Mumm Pop Up Champagne Bar offers a splash of French fun and sophistication.

Gates open at 10.30am and general admission on the day is $20.
