A total of 1937 horses have been entered as first nominations for the world’s richest race for two-year-olds, the $5 million Groujp 1-Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens.
Among the nominations are 953 colts and geldings and 984 fillies for next year’s race, to be run on Saturday 21 March.
The 2026 Golden Slipper will be the 70th renewal of the iconic event.
Yulong Investments has entered the greates number of horses with 115, followed by Golden Slipper record-winning stable Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott with 107 entries.
Godolphin (95), Chris Waller Racing (94) and Ciaron Maher Racing (91) are the next highest.
Among sires most represented are I Am Invincible (90), Home Affairs (75), Snitzel (72), Stay Inside (66) and Zoustar (61).
Australian Turf Club Head of Racing and Wagering, Nevesh Ramdhani said: “The Golden Slipper is iconic in world of racing and plays such a pivotal role for the Australian racing and breeding industry.
“We are delighted to see such an emerging organisation such as Yulong nominating so many horses along with the biggest stables across Australia."
