Friday Focus - A Snapshot Of Saturday Racing

ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 10 # 10 – PHARARI

Nothing went right for her last start, and she should've won. The mare was heavily backed but uncharacteristically missed the start, got into an awkward position throughout transit, and was checked/blocked at crucial stages but still surged to the line once clear to finish third. Further, her visual late strength was backed up by the clock, with the four-year-old clocking the meeting's fastest final 200m split, and that race rated highly relative to the day. She has dominant figures relative to her rivals, the Rosehill 1100m suits, and a strong SP profile.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – VALUE BET: Race 8 # 8 – WATERFORD

He is a proven fresh performer and represents value. The gelding has trialled well, going through the line full of energy and first-up last preparation; he ran slick time and produced a career peak figure. The six-year-old races best at his home track and is suited on dry ground, enhancing his key asset in acceleration. He maps to be smothered away and can be in the finish with even luck. Each-way.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – SECTIONAL STAR: Race 6 # 2 – MORE TERRITORIES

She is ready to peak third-up with no weight, and the blinkers go on for the first time. The filly was unsuited to the race shape last start behind Autumn Glow, and although outpaced up-tempo, she ran a hidden final 200m split. Punter's Intelligence recorded her final furlong in 11.27, the ninth fastest of the meeting. The O'Shea & Charlton galloper gets her chance from the inside draw and can be strong late.

KEMBLA GRANGE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 7 # 6 – KING OF THUNDER

He went to a new level last start to score with the blinkers on for the first time and relished getting onto a dry surface. The lightly raced improver was heavily backed, controlled the speed but showed acceleration and went through the line full of energy. He is 42 days between runs but trialled well in a high-pressure heat recently, and he also receives a gear change. In addition, he can step again but brings a solid last-start figure relative to his rivals.
