ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST BET: Race 5 # 19 – IDLE FLYER
She's flying this preparation and has been impressive, winning her two starts this campaign. The mare has gone to a complete new level and produced a career peak figure last start, which lines up well against her opposition here. Further, she was well-ridden, but she showed adaptability, overcoming difficulties in the straight, and once clear, she savaged the line, recording the meeting's fastest final 200m split. The Matthew-Smith-trained runner has an improver's action, is in the zone, and the 1600m will be ideal with no weight on her back, enhancing her key attributes.

ROYAL RANDWICK – NEXT BEST: Race 9 # 9 – SOUL OF SPAIN
Chris Waller has won the Group 1 Metropolitan (2400m) six times, and he has another improving type that profiles well for this assignment. The import has stepped each start from a ratings perspective since arriving in Australia, and he produced a career peak last start in the Newcastle Cup (2300m). Additionally, his late sectional speed in all runs this campaign suggests he can reach a new level, and he was a winner over 3319m overseas. Expect him to find a positive spot positionally in the run, and he is well-suited with the 50.5kg.
ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST VALUE: Race 6 # 5 – QUEEN OF CLUBS
She's set to peak third-up and profiles as one that will relish the Randwick mile. The filly wasn't suited first-up on a heavy surface and then had genuine excuses last start in the key lead-up. Further, she had the race shape against her, was checked/blocked at critical stages, but once clear, she surged to the line and ran the race's fastest final 200m split. Expect her to improve sharply, and she represents value at an each-way quote.
KEMBLA GRANGE –PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 7 # 9 – FELIS CHAUS
He's returned improved this prep and broke through for his maiden win with style at Canberra last start. The gelding was well ridden, but his effort had merit, and the clock backed up his visual late strength. Further, he built momentum in the straight, recording fast closing splits/overall time, and all key indicators suggest the rise in trip is ideal. The Richard Litt-trained galloper has a strong platform and can step again third-up with the big track suiting.
