Biggest Winx Fans Come From Across Australia

The Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Sydney will all be represented at Winx's last race after three lucky winners were selected to attend The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, for a Winx experience of a lifetime.

The Australian Turf Club's 'Biggest Winx Fan' competition attracted hundreds of entries from all around Australia, with judging proving difficult due to the creativity of most entries and the obvious love and dedication displayed by many Australians towards the champion mare Winx.

Kim Eishold from the Northern Territory produced an emotional video tribute to Winx, and as a result she and a friend are on their way to Sydney to see Winx's finale on 13 April.

"It's a long way from home, but it's completely worth it. I get teary talking about it," Kim says.

"I'm so glad she stayed in Australia for her whole career. There's no need to go overseas to prove her brilliance."

Adam Hudson from Western Sydney entered the competition on behalf of his son, Jude, with a video montage showing how big a Winx fan the young racegoer is.

Jude loves to dress up in Winx's famous blue and white silks, knows all of Winx's stats, and even refers to himself as "Hugh Bowman", after Winx's regular jockey.

The last Biggest Winx Fan competition winner will literally travel overseas to get to Royal Randwick, after Tasmania's Sarah Bond was selected to witness what will be a historic day in Australian sporting history.

"I named my cat after Winx and my bedroom is designed around Winx," Sarah wrote in her competition entry.

"She inspires me and is amazing. Plain and simple, I love Winx!"

A picture of Sarah's bedroom proved her point, with photos, flags, and a blue and white bedspread forming part of her personal tribute to Winx (the horse, not the cat).

The three lucky winners and their guests will stay at The Star, Sydney before heading to The Championships Day 2 - Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day at Royal Randwick on 13 April.

Once there, they will be taken into the Theatre of the Horse to experience the pre-race parade ahead of Winx's final ever race, the Group 1 Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Winx's Biggest Fans will then watch the champion mare race from the Owners' enclosure, as she brings down the curtain on an amazing career.

Tickets are close to selling out for Winx's farewell, with only a few thousand remaining.
