Appeal Outcomes - James McDonald & Blaike McDougall

The Racing NSW Appeals Panel on Friday conducted the following appeals:

James McDonald – 3 weeks Suspension AR129(2)

Jockey James McDonald appealed the decision of Racing NSW Stewards to suspended his licence to ride in races for a period of three weeks commencing on 5 July 2020 and to expire on 26 July 2020 on which day he may ride, for a breach of AR129(2), following his ride on Threeood at Randwick 20 June 2020.

The Appeal Panel confirmed the finding of guilt against J McDonald. However, his appeal against penalty was upheld and his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence on 5 July 2020 in to expire on 12 July 2020 on which day he may ride.

Blaike McDougall – 6 Weeks Suspension AR229(1)(h)

Jockey Blaike McDougall appealed the decision of Racing NSW Stewards to suspend his jockey’s licence in full for a period of 6 weeks commencing 10 July 2020 and to expire on 21 August 2020, for a breach of AR229(1)(h) for providing false and misleading evidence to the Stewards at the Hawkesbury race meeting on 23 June 2020.

The Appeal Panel upheld the appeal on penalty and determined his licence to ride in races be suspended for a period on 1 month to commence on 10 July 2020 and to expire on 10 August 2020 on which day he may ride.
