Hot Weather Policies To Be Invoked At Cessnock (Tuesday)

With a forecast maximum temperature of 36 degrees, Racing NSW's Level 1 Hot Weather Policy will be invoked at Cessnock’s race meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, 9 January 2017).

Race club officials will have ice, water, scrapers and extra hoses available to assist in the cooling of horses.

Stewards will minimise the time that horses are required to parade or be held in mounting enclosures both pre- and post-race or behind the starting barriers.

Horses must be allowed sufficient time to adequately cool down before being floated back to their stables.

Stewards will continue to monitor any further weather predictions.
