Vale Mr Jim McDonald (Armidale)

Armidale Jockey Club is saddened to be informed of the passing of local bookmaker Mr Jim McDonald.

Jim was one of the longest serving bookmakers from Armidale and was well known to field all around the Hunter and North West, Mid North Coast and the Northern Rivers Racing Regions.

He was very professional and more than happy to help out clubs with Calcuttas or even going to some remote race meetings so they could have a bookmaker standing on the day.

Jim was also known for his insurance business which he operated in Armidale for more than 40 years.

Jim's family will be having a private funeral.
