Vale Mr Jim Bouffler

The racing fraternity lost a true gentleman and an excellent former administrator with the recent passing of Mr Jim Bouffler, aged 84.

Jim joined the board of Murrumbidgee Turf Club in 1985, following in the footsteps of his father Jack, who served on the board for 18 years.

Jim was elected President of MTC and served for nine years until his retirement in 2005. He was awarded life membership upon his retirement and remained a regular participant up until the last couple of years.

Jim, along with several friends, raced a number of handy winners over the years that included the metropolitan winners Irish Landy and Dolly Will Do.

Jim was also passionate about the land and a highly respected judge of sheep on his property 'Trigger Vale' near Lockhart. He will be sorely missed by his family and his great number of friends.
