Vale Dorothy 'Dot' Robinson (Muswellbrook) - Funeral Details

SERVICE DETAILS: A service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held in the Muswellbrook Race Club gardens from 11am on Tuesday, 12 November 2024.

Muswellbrook Race Club is saddened to announce the passing of valued and well-respected employee Dorothy (Dot) Robinson.

Dot worked tirelessly for the MRC for more than 30 years as the club’s trackwork supervisor and gardener.

The MRC’s beautiful rose gardens can be especially attributed to Dot.

Aside from paid duties, Dot could be found each MRC raceday selling her sought-after baked goods, jams and relishes.

“Dot was the heart and soul of Muswellbrook Race Club over many years and took great care of the grounds and gardens which will be her long lasting legacy,” said MRC's Chairman, John Sunderland.

“You were never in any doubt about what Dot was thinking. She was loved and will be fondly remembered by everyone. Our thoughts are with her family.”

Racing and horses were always a part of Dot’s life. Her late husband John was a part-time trainer and both her sons followed in his footsteps - Andrew at Muswellbrook and Matthew in Taree.

Dot is survived by her sons Andrew (and wife Cathy), Matthew (and wife Misty) and daughter Mandy and their families.

In her honour, the Vale Dot Robinson Benchmark 66 Handicap, 1500m will be conducted at Muswellbrook races this Sunday, 3rd November 2024.
