Tickets go on sale from Tuesday (1 July 2025) to share in $2 million prizemoney for The Kosciuszko sweepstakes, an integral part of the world’s richest race for country-trained gallopers.
From tomorrow, NSW residents can purchase $5 sweepstakes tickets via the TAB App, tab.com.au, local pubs, clubs, TAB agencies and at NSW race meetings.
14 winning tickets will be drawn on 10 September 2025 with each winner then selecting a NSW country or ACT-trained horse to race in their ‘slot’, once they have agreed with the horse’s ownership group as to how they will share prizemoney for the race.
Tickets sales will close at 11:59pm on Monday, 8 September 2025.
The much anticipated The Kosciuszko sweepstakes draw will then take place on Wednesday, 10 September 2025 and is to be broadcast live on Sky Thoroughbred Central and on racingnsw.com.au
The Kosciuszko race will be run on TAB Everest Day – Saturday, 18 October 2025 at Royal Randwick.
Scott Williams, publican at Tattersall’s Hotel in Inverell, formed the syndicate last year that won a slot and successfully secured Far Too Easy, the eventual The Kosciuszko winner.
“The whole concept is unbelievable,” said Williams. “The amount of people that came up to me after we won a slot asking ‘how do we get into this Kosciuszko’ was amazing.
“People you wouldn’t expect, just coming off the street who aren’t even regular pub goers. It’s great for country racing.”
The Kosciuszko sweepstakes is conducted under Permit GOCSC/1058.
