Alarm clock ticks over, it’s that time of the week again for all in the racing industry as the riches of spring races beckon.
There is no stopping – it’s go go go as trainers prepare their teams for the future.
One trainer ticking his current racing team over and preparing others for the future is Darrell Burnet.
His life is always busy but over the past few days and on Monday it is even more frantic.
“It’s flat out for all of us. My team do a great job and we will be doing plenty of kilometres not only with our racehorses but six horses to attend to breeze up sessions for our younger horses at Warwick Farm on Monday morning,” he said.

“I won’t be at Wagga on Monday to watch Divine Conclusion race because of the breeze ups, but I think he will run a big race again.
“It’s a similar class of race to last time and he steps up in distance to 1800 metres which suits him.
“I will be tuning in to see if he can make it three straight. I think he can the way he has been going.”
Burnet was at Rosehill on Saturday with Bonnie Murringo which finished seventh in the Highway before returning home then trekking to Dubbo on Sunday with Spirit Lake in the Picnic Sprint Championship.
The breeze up sales allow potential buyers to purchase off what they see at a stage of the galloper’s racing career when they are close to racing.
It was only last year when a galloper prepared by Burnet topped the sale – a life changing moment for himself and family.
“We have six nice colts I’m really happy with,” he said.
“It’s a lot of work and kilometres, but you have to travel to try and get winners and also for the breeze ups.
“I have Tyler Schiller riding my horses at the breeze ups which I’m happy about and Glenn Cahill will taken a couple of kilograms off Divine Conclusion with his claim.”
Divine Conclusion has won over 1750 and 1675 metres at his past two starts enhancing his record to three victories from 15 appearances.
The five-year-old is a perfect example of the operation Burnet undertakes with his horses from the time they join up.
“I originally broke him in then he went away for a bit and came back to me. He has never raced better and the longer distances suits him,” he said.
Divine Conclusion ($3.80fav NSW TAB) will contest the Wagga Workwear Benchmark 58 – the race being part of the Wagga stayer series.
Wagga is the only meeting racing in New South Wales and the eight-races will be conducted back on the course proper with the rail out nine metres from the 1400 metres.
Recent fine weather has the course rated as a soft 5 which Divine Conclusion won his latest start in the Aggies Cup on the same rated surface.
Meanwhile, trainer Michael Travers will wind up a hectic past few days with his team with a record 14 runners at Wagga.
He also raced at Dubbo on Sunday with five starters.
Jockey John Kissick has a full book of eight rides and looks an excellent chance of adding to his recent tally.
He has ridden ten winners since August 16 which includes a treble at Corowa.
