Record-Breaking Tomingley Win Puts Avalicious In Picnic Champion Series Frame

Consistent Dubbo mare Avalicious snapped a 10-start losing streak when successful in last Saturday's Alkane Resources Tomingley Picnic Cup (1500m).

In doing so the five-year-old, the $1.70 favourite, broke the track record by running 1:25.99 for jockey Ricky Blewitt.

Prepared by Dubbo trainer Clint Lundholm, Avalicious defeated Namarari (Zara Lewis, $12) by half a length with Valadyium (Dylan Parrott, $7) a length away in third position.

The mare received 10 points in the NSW Picnic Champion Series which are her only points in the Series to date.

Dubbo trainer Connie Greig's mare Linden Tree holds a commanding lead on 40 points ahead of Foxstorm, Have Mercy and Valadyium all on 29 points with California August next on 28 points.

The next chance to earn points will be at BOOROWA PICNICS on Saturday (4th May).
