Neil Evans' Tips For Warren (Monday)

By Neil Evans

Track Soft 5 and rail true

Race 1 - 11:55AM WARREN STAYERS HANDICAP BM58 HANDICAP (2400 METRES)

3. Wolf Club draws the inside, and can go back to back stepping up in trip from a tough CL1 win 13 days ago. Hard ftit for this, gets a soft run on or near the speed and further boosted with the early favorite being preferred at Sunday's Muswellbrook meeting. 4. Sian is over the odds coming off a dominant and last start BM 58 win well into the prep. 7. Hideyo was given little or no chance last start, held up and shuffled back behind the former, but did finish off well when clear late. 1. Yak another last start winner in BM 58 grade over a similar trip, and 6. Instead who has been in and around the money all prep, and sneaks a little further down in the weights; can both figure in the money.

How to play it: Wolf Club to win

Race 2 - 12:30PM GUNNINGBAR CREEK MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)

13. Spring Prospect is a lightly raced filly drawn to get the right run inside, and strike at just her third start. Was backed from $3.50 into $3.20 ahead of a solid effort at Parkes, and extra fitness can get her home. 14. Sneaky Pee Cee is a two-year-old debutante by Winning Rupert, and a big market watch behind a steady trial. 4. London Boy is an improver back on firmer ground, and also draws to get a sound run just off the speed. At bigger odds, keep safe 12. Saint Philomena getting on to a much preferred bigger track second-up. 11. Miss Rovilea is a four-year-old mare by Kobayashi also having her first start off a quiet trial.

How to play it: Spring Prospect to win

Race 3 - 1:05PM EWENAMAR CREEK MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

14. The Git Up Is an underrated and still improving mare who can launch third-up over 100m further at good odds after being given a torrid run at Wellington three weeks back. Drawn to get a lovely camp behind the speed in what is an open and wide race, and a superior and stronger jockey takes over. 8. Down The Kooka can figure getting back on to better ground second-up, and also from a handy trailing draw. 12. Fetes Des Meres has to tuck in from a wider barrier, but she gets the blinkers back on a month between runs, and having her first start in NSW. 7. Twining Class and 13. I Don't Think So can both add value into exoticplays.

How to play it: The Git Up to win

Race 4 - 1:40PM SANDY CREEK COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES)

5. Miss You So is a lightly raced and improving three-year-old in the Rodney Northam stable at Scone who is searching for further second-up. Will ultimately be better over a longer trip, but will relish getting back onto a much bigger track, and with decent speed on, only needs a clear crack at them from the 350m. 17. Matilda Of Tuscany is suited up in distance third-up. 1. Carrick draws to get a soft run over a furlong further, but still needs to improve. 9. Bold Bender is very fit deep into the prep; while 14. Withania has beaten all but the winner in her last two, but more depth in this. 13. Winning Reign heads the rest.

How to play it: Miss You So win

Race 5 - 2:15PM MACQUARIE RIVER CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1600 METRES)

4. Southerly Buster is a lightly raced and progressive three-year-old who can go back-to-back stepping up from a fast-finishing and dominant win in heavy ground at Tamworth. Right at peak fitness for a race that isn't much tougher, and looms as the best weighted runner after the new jockey takes 2kg off. Again can settle back off a solid speed and put them to the sword late. 3. Crown Legend draws to be in the finish getting back out to the mile. 5. Billabong Rose must overcome an awkward draw, but was strong when leading from barrier to box to win a Super Maiden fresh at Parkes. Keep safe 7. Trust A Kitty third-up behind a month-long freshen; while 11. Sweet As A Kiss who won a CL1 in heavy going two starts back goes in wider exotic plays.

How to play it: Southerly Buster to win

Race 6 - 2:50PM WARREN SHOWGROUNDS CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1600 METRES)

11. Miss Clamorosa is a capable Dubbo filly who only needs to slot in somewhere from a wide draw to take care of this lot in a race lacking depth. Has hit the line impressively in two CL1 runs back from a spell when forced to work from wide gates, and she stands out at the weights carrying only half a kilo over the minimum. 4. Jaspers's Way can bounce back at his third start after finding traffic problems from a mile back at Gunnedah last start. Gets a soft run with cover, and the eight day back-up is a solid pointer. 6. Never Bird can run home into the minor money third-up, and sneaking down in the weights. Gap to the rest headed by 5. Allande who won a very weak picnic affair nine days ago.

How to play it: Miss Clamorosa to win

Race 7 - 3:25PM COLLIE COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

10. Myalaby is an improving filly who can strike here second-up at good odds, with a significant jockey change. Hit the line late from a mile back when resuming at Wellington despite being unwanted in betting, and the extra 100m is a natural plus. 1. The Impeckable must be kept safe resuming from a handy draw behind two progressive trials. 2. I'm Scarlett can mix her form, but comes off a tough last start win in a weaker picnic race carrying a whopping 70kg. 3. Pyromania is on the next line coming back slightly in distance. Gap to the rest.

How to play it: Myalaby to win

Race 8 - 4:05PM WARREN SHIRE COUNTRY BOOSTED BM58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

3. Insightful Award is a progressive mare who has been a little stiff hitting the line late in her last two. Comes back from much tougher BM 66 company, and draws to get a nice run with cover a few lengths off the speed. Primed to claim a fourth career win at only her 14th start. 1. Deion continues building a solid record stepping up a shade in trip three weeks between runs. Beat a better CL2 field two starts ago, but still shapes under the odds here from a wide draw. 4. Podcast was a certainty beaten when striking all sorts of trouble getting home late in a deeper CL2 at Mudgee. Back in distance here, but draws to park a little closer in the run. 12. Eilrahc is honest and fit, with a senior jockey taking over.

How to play it: Insightful Award to win

Race 9 - 4:40PM NEVERTIRE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

6. Joy Of The World is a consistent three-year-old who can make it two wins from his last three back 100m in distance in what is a moderate lineup. Bolted in his maiden from the front two starts ago before again leading for a long way in a CL1 at Wellington. Will roll forward from a middle gate, and carries the same weight after the jockey takes 2kg off. 4. Rothgate is right in the hunt, hard fit and staying over his pret trip. 7. The Mooch comes off a fast finishing win at Parkes, but likely to be forced further back here, drawn very wide. 9. Air Play shooting for consecutive wins in this grade, and 11. Kermitisapet, also hunting back-to-back wins third-up, can both run into the minor money.

How to play it: Joy Of The World to win

BEST BETS:
R1 3. WOLF CLUB
R5 4. SOUTHERLY BUSTER

BEST VALUE:
R8 3. INSIGHTFUL AWARD
