3. King Jerry hasn’t been beaten too far in two Highway events in town either side of a second at Scone. He was beaten less than three lengths in both Highway runs and looks the obvious horse to beat. 7. Think Of One has been placed in three of his latest four starts. He was safely held into third at Taree last time out but shouldn’t be discounted in this. 4. Power Through scored a surprise win at Tamworth three starts ago and could sneak into the placings with a repeat of that. 1. Cassie’s Lad is an on pace runner that performed well when second at two starts ago and comes into this after a midfield last start Port Macquarie effort.
How to play it: King Jerry WIN.
Race 2 - 2:35PM SAUNDERS MOTOR GROUP CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

8. Magnolia Jewel followed a close-up fourth at Port Macquarie with an all the way win at Coffs Harbour two starts ago. She since led again when finishing fourth at Dubbo. She should take up a prominent position again here and take plenty of running down. 3. Straight Sets was resuming from a spell at Newcastle at her latest run and she did the job well to score a hard fought victory. She should be thereabouts again. 4. Cosmic Treasure hit the line well when a last start third at this track when resuming and bears close watching. 2. Ocean Joy has been midfield in two runs since resuming at this track and Newcastle. A placing wouldn’t shock.
How to play it: Magnolia Jewel EACH WAY.
Race 3 - 3:10PM THE REMINGTON MAIDEN HANDICAP (1500 METRES)
---
2. Abated Breath is lightly raced with three starts to his name and he has performed well in each of them. He was midfield here two starts ago and then finished third at Armidale when last produced. He is ready to break through here. 1. Brilliant Knight was first-up from a spell at this track when last produced and fought strongly to the line when finishing fourth. He should have derived benefit from that hitout and warrants respect. 3. Vendor was resuming for a new stable when midfield at Coonamble and looks to have the talent to give this a shake. 8. Heapy’s Legacy has been midfield in both runs since returning form a break and could get into the placings.
How to play it: Abated Breath EACH WAY.
Race 4 - 3:45PM MANGOOLA COAL OPERATIONS MAIDEN PLATE (1280 METRES)
---
12. Crathie Kirk was on debut after two trials when finishing fourth at Hawkesbury behind the talented Nesrine. She hit the line well enough there and should appreciate the step up in distance. 13. Grand Voile is a stablemate of Crathie Kirk and comes into this after a debut fourth at this track. She can improve on that. 14. Satin’s Legacy was resuming from a long spell when finishing fifth at Scone after two trials and is worth thought in this company. 10. Backhander was a short-priced favourite when second at Armidale when finishing well at her latest start and she is worth including among the main chances.
How to play it: Crathie Kirk WIN.
Race 5 - 4:20PM ROSEVALE ANGUS CLASS 2 & ABOVE BM58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
---
4. Super Freds ran well in the Lightning at Taree before camping off the speed and coming with a well-timed run to score a strong Scone victory at his latest start. He is up in weight here but can go on with the job. 2. Navy Steel looked the winner at Scone last time out only to be claimed late by Super Freds. He is talented and looms as the main danger again. 8. So You Suggest has been down on form of late but is handy at best and can turn things around. 6. Cupid’s Kiss was midfield here when last produced and a placing wouldn’t surprise.
How to play it: Super Freds WIN.
Race 6 - 4:55PM TAB BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1500 METRES)
---
5. Tillstrom made his debut at Grafton with a strong win as favourite when racing on the speed and fighting on strongly. He backed that up with a last start victory at this track when settling just behind the speed and finishing well in the straight. There’s no reason he can’t make in three from three. 2. Hibiki Harmony went to the lead and gave nothing else a chance when scoring an easy last start win at this track. Another bold showing is on the cards. 3. Laizabout has had two runs back from a spell and has performed well in each of them with seconds at Dubbo and Scone. He should take plenty of holding out again. 9. Naughty Nurse is handy on her day and could get into the placings.
How to play it: Tillstrom WIN.
Race 7 - 5:40PM MAGIC MILLIONS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1280 METRES)
---
5. Mount Bona was a winner at Scone at her second start and then was spelled after a fourth at Newcastle. She resumed from a spell with a fourth at Newcastle and strips fitter for this event. She can bounce back to winning form. 7. Chestime was a Gunnedah winner three starts ago and was placed at Armidale when last produced. 3. Dreymon did the job well to score on the Beaumont track at Newcastle last time out and has claims with a repeat. 2. Wild Flash has been midfield in both runs back from a spell and is a place chance.
How to play it: Mount Bona WIN.
Best Bets:
Race 4 (12) Cratie Kirk.
Race 6 (5) Tillstrom.
Best Value:
Race 2 (8) Magnolia Jewel.
