Greig Stable Looking The Goods For NSW Picnic Champion Series Final

The Connie Greig stable in Dubbo continues to have a throttle hold on the 2023 NSW Picnic Champion Series Final with eight of the top 10 horses listed in the point score.

Greig's Billy Bent Ear leads the pack with 41 points and is 10 points clear of stablemate Valadyium with Greig's Belle O'Ballee and Gossip sharing equal third spot on 30 points.

Billy Bent Ear ($2) continued to land points when a close second to Belle O'Ballee (Leandro Ribeiro, $1.70 favourite) in the Gunnedah Business Houses Bracelet (1000m) at Wean picnics on July 9.

The feature, the Boggabri Business Houses Wean Picnic Cup (1600m), was taken out by the Greig-trained Gossip (Leandro Ribeiro, $3.20) who defeated Beg Me (Tamsin Gough, $7) by a shot neck.

The next meeting of the NSW Picnic Champion Series will be at Trangie (Macquarie picnics) on Saturday 29th July).
