Gossip Continues Stable's Purple Patch At Ardlethan Picnics

There is no stopping the Connie Greig stable from Dubbo after taking out last weekend's Ardlethan Picnic Cup.

Greig's gallopers have been in red-hot form having won five races at Condobolin in February before landing a winning double at Tottenham a fortnight back.

This time Greig captured the feature, the Nutrien Ag Solutions Ardlethan Picnic Cup (1600m), with $2.60 chance Gossip.

Ridden by stable jockey Leandro Ribeiro, the mare defeated Broo Boss (Ricky Blewitt, $7) by three-quarters of a length, with favourite The Chaplain (Anaelle Gangotena, $1.90) close up in third position.

Connie Greig's Valadyium, winner of the Bedgerabong and Condobolin Picnic Cups, leads the NSW Picnic Champion Series with 23 points from stablemates Call Me Trinity (21 points) and Gossip (19pts).

Clint Lundholm's Nepenthes, who was placed at Bedgerabong and Condobolin, is in equal third position with 19 points.

The next round of the NSW Picnic Champion Series will be held at Tullibigeal this Saturday.
