Employment Opportunities - Trackwork Riders (Regional Areas)

Racing NSW is responsible for the leadership and regulation of thoroughbred horse racing in NSW including the provision of services to the industry in this state.

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for trackwork riders to join Racing NSW. The role would suit someone wishing to supplement their income working primarily in the mornings.  Extra work can be available attending race meetings and barrier trials.

Primarily a field position, you will need to be reliable and punctual with the ability to organise a daily work plan in your region of Country NSW.

To be successful in this role you:

  • will have experience as a trackwork rider
  • experience in riding gallops (timing)
  • have excellent horse handling skills
  • be able to provide team support and a hands-on attitude
  • are vibrant, innovative and self-motivated
  • have a strong work ethic and the ability to work well under pressure
  • have superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • be prepared to travel to race meetings and various locations if required
