This year's ‘Goulburn Australia' Goulburn Cup is just 20 days away with the club all set to ‘go big’ on Sunday 24th August.
The race doubles as Goulburn’s Race Club’s biggest on the calendar and represents a Big Dance qualifying opportunity for the winner.
The Goulburn Australia Goulburn Cup is ideally positioned 10 weeks out from the $3m Big Dance at Royal Randwick on Tuesday 4th November.

Goulburn’s feature is a 1400m open handicap with a $200,000 prize purse. Punters looking for an early leg up only need to go as far as the letter ‘G’ with recent winners including Green Shadows (2024) and Grebeni (2023).
Goulburn Race Club's CEO, Robyn Fife believes the Goulburn Cup Day program is now a genuine reflection of the quality of racing the club hosts year-round.
“The ‘Goulburn Australia' Goulburn Cup country showcase meeting is a premier racing event. It also represents a tip off point for our strong spring racing schedule in the tablelands,” Ms Fife said.
“With half a million dollars in prizemoney on offer it’s now a serious raceday destination for owners and trainers.
“We are pleased to welcome back Goulburn Australia as our presenting partner for the second year running in what’s always been a vibrant community event in Goulburn.”
Strong support races on the program include:
• Pat Murphy Racing/Graeme Spackman Country Magic ($50,000 Benchmark 66 - 1600m)
• Kirk’s Bridge Farm /The Guy Walter ($50,000 Class 3 Fillies & Mares 1300m).
• REC/SHEC Equine Centres Super Maiden ($50,000 Maiden Hcp -1400m)
On the other side of the fence there is also plenty for racegoers to get involved in including Raceday Bingo, Car Club displays, Seib Racing Fashions on the Field, Woodfired Pizza and smooth DJ sets.
