Bathurst To Benefit From Back To The Track Funding

By Michelle Tarpenning

Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing has been announced as a grant recipient under the NSW Government’s Back to the Track program. The Club is the big winner, securing the maximum of $20,000.

NSW Minister for Racing, The Hon Paul Toole, said the Club would use the money to instill a love of racing in the next generation.

“The local thoroughbred racing club’s goal is to boost engagement with under 35s by setting up a young members’ marquee and offering a free year’s membership to the first 100 people who register,” he said.

Mr Toole was pleased to see that a bulk of that funding would flow into Bathurst.

The Club’s proposal is to use the funds for its Racing NSW Country Showcase meeting (Bathurst Cup) on Sunday, 17 March 2019.  Please contact the Club on (02) 6331 2719 for further details.
