Bathurst Cup 'Legends Day' Honours Tulloch The Champion

In the lead-up to this year's ‘Bathurst Cup – Legends Day' author Ken Linnett, special guest of Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing, will be at Books Plus in Bathurst on Saturday morning speaking about his book, ‘Tulloch’ champion racehorse.

Tulloch was regarded as one of the three finest racehorses in Australian racing history and winner of some of Australia’s biggest races under the guidance of Tommy Smith and the ownership of E.A. Haley.

‘Legends Day’ honours many of the racing legends from Bathurst and surrounds with each race named after former top trainers, jockeys or horses.

Race 8, The Kings Hotel Tulloch Cup is a Class 2 Showcase Handicap over 1200 metres.

Other races have been named after Hugh Bowman, Bill Aspros, The Barb, Ida Traill, Rising Prince and Gold Circle.

This year's Bathurst Cup is a Showcase meeting with minimum prizemoney of $30k, for total stakes of $275,000.  The Cup is the feature and carries prizemoney of $50,000.

For racegoers there will also be a free sausage sizzle and live music.
