Ballina Races (Sat) Abandoned - Two New Races For Port Macquarie (Tuesday)

Ballina's race meeting scheduled for Saturday (8th March) has been abandoned due to the impact of Cyclone Alfred.

The Ballina track is currently rated a Heavy 10 with a forecast of upwards of 150mls between now and Saturday, therefore for the safety of participants and the general public, an early decision has been made.

Following the abandonment, Racing NSW has added two races to the Port Macquarie race program on Tuesday 11th March.

- Benchmark 66 Handicap, 1200m
- Maiden Plate, 1200m

Nominations close for these two races at 3pm TODAY with acceptances taken at 9am on Friday (7th March).

Racing NSW will continue to consider adding additional meetings and races in the region to provide opportunities for participants to compete for prizemoney once conditions improve.
