Following the acceptances being released for the Newcastle meeting on Sunday 1 December 2024 it has been identified that in Race 6 the BM64 1400m Gulf Of Tomini, trained by Kristen Buchanan has been allocated the incorrect weight.

Upon investigation it has been identified that Gulf Of Tomini has been handicapped 62KG in accordance with its Queensland benchmark rating of 66 and was not weighted off its NSW benchmark rating of 57.

Acting under the provisions of AR177(3) Stewards, due to an error in the allotted weight, have corrected the weight allocated to Gulf Of Tomini to 57.5KG in accordance with its NSW benchmark rating of 57.

This has resulted in an alteration to the final field with Gulf Of Tomini now being declared as the third emergency.

Stewards have also ruled that given the period of time which had elapsed since the release of the final field, Gulf Of Tomni will retain number 1 saddlecloth with all barriers remaining as allocated.
