NSW Race Meetings - Updates Due To Impending Conditions

Please be advised with the predicted high temperatures and continued monitoring of air quality, the following decisions have been made by Racing NSW for upcoming meetings:

1. Wyong (Sunday, 5 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 26 degrees and partly cloudy
Due to the forecast 41+ degrees at Wyong for the scheduled race meeting on Saturday and no likely change to the forecast, Racing NSW has decided to move the meeting to Sunday (5th January). Sunday will provide greater comfort to horses, participants and raceday patrons with a much more favourable forecast of 24 degrees. New race times for Wyong will be released shortly.

2. Gilgandra (Sunday, 5 January 2020) - ABANDONED
An alternative date to run the Gilgandra Cup will be released by Racing NSW in the near future.

3. Ballina (Sunday, 5 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 30 degrees and sunny
No change.

4. Albury (Monday, 6 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 27 degrees with possible showers (some concern with air quality)
This meeting - originally Friday 3rd January - has been moved to Monday, 6th January 2020. Could be in doubt due to the availability of an ambulance.

5. Moruya (Monday, 6 January 2020) - ABANDONED
Due to the surrounding bushfire situation, this meeting has been abandoned. Racing NSW is extremely mindful of the dangers currently being experienced and has made this decision to protect the safety and welfare of participants and horses.
