The TAB Everest will be run on Saturday, 13 October at Royal Randwick racecourse over 1200m.
This is the second year the TAB Everest will be run with the inaugural event attracting a $10 million prize pool and a free performance for racegoers by Jason Derulo. This year’s event is bigger and better with a massive $3 million increase to prize money.
Liam will perform an exclusive 45-minute concert for all TAB Everest ticket holders after the last race in the Theatre of the Horse.
Liam shot to fame as a member of One Direction, arguably the world’s biggest boy band with 137 number ones, more than 61 million sales worldwide and in excess of 1 billion Spotify streams.
In 2016 Liam commenced his solo career and released his debut single ‘Strip That Down’ featuring Quavo. The single was a worldwide hit, topping the US charts and has since totalled over 10 million sales across the globe. ‘Strip That Down’ is certified Platinum in five countries including the UK and USA, and was one of the biggest selling singles of 2017, as well as the biggest selling solo single from any current member of One Direction. Liam has since collaborated with some of the hottest acts of the pop music world, including superstar DJ/producer Zedd on ‘Get Low’ and more recently J Balvin, the Latin American megastar who combined for the hit single ‘Familiar’. In 2018, ‘For You’, a duet with Rita Orawas released – a UK top ten hit which spent 17 weeks on the UK singles chart and featured on the Fifty Shades Freed official soundtrack.
Payne said of the upcoming appearance: “I’m a big fan of horse racing and to be performing at the TAB Everest is very exciting – I can’t wait to get down to Australia for it!”
