John Schell's Selections For Hawkesbury Races (Thursday)

By John Schell

The track is rated a Soft 5 with the rail out 2m from the 1100m-450m and TRUE the remainder. The Hawkesbury forecast is for a sunny day with a top of 32 degrees.

Race 1 - 1:50PM IRRESISTIBLE POOLS & SPAS PROVINCIAL MAIDEN PLATE (1100M)

6. ADMIRE ME ($4 on TAB) had trialled on a number of occasions and won the latest of them before debuting with a sixth (of six) at Gosford behind Jarrito. She was well in the market that day and although failing to beat a runner home, she was beaten just under three lengths. She should have derived benefit from that hitout and is back to her home track in this. 8. Odaka ($3.30) is an Ole Kirk filly that had three starts earlier in the year with a last start fourth at Wyong in June being her best effort. She resumes here and has had two solid trials in preparation for this return to racing. 1. Brutal Advance ($2.40 favourite) charged home from back in the field to just miss when finishing second at this track when last produced and another bold showing is on the cards. 2. Cosmora ($17) finished alongside Brutal Advance in third placing when they last met and warrants thought again.

How to play it: Admire Me WIN

Race 2 - 2:25PM EVERGREEN TURF 4YO & UP MAIDEN HANDICAP (1300M)
