Increased Prizemoney For Gosford's Thunder Thousand

As Gosford prepares to host its Stand-alone meeting on Saturday 6th May, Racing NSW has updated one of the feature races on the program.

The Thunder Thousand (1000m) - a Benchmark 78 Handicap race - will be run on The Coast Raceday and now offers an increased prize pool of $175,000 (up from $150,000).

The race is open to three-year-olds and upwards with no sex restriction.

Gosford Race Club encourages trainers to bring horses of all calibre to the Central Coast’s richest raceday with a total of $1.8 million up for grabs.

This includes the $500,000 The Coast (1600m), the $250,000 Listed-Gosford Gold Cup (2100m) and $200,000 Listed-Takeover Target Stakes (1200m).

Nominations close at 11am on Monday 1st May.
